Quid pro Quo

How did these lives become so intertwined?
That one without the other cannot breathe
Should one then leave the other undermined?
Without a love to share the summer's breeze
What is it sets you free when you submit
To yield one's will to Master's given pain
And suffer actions only He permits
To lose this is like cutting deep the vein
The blood within will course so long as this
Exchange of power is kept between us each
But should the interaction fall amiss
That perfect harmony is then impeached
Should others see us they might never know
Our interaction happens quid pro quo

*Quid pro quo: something for something; that which a party
receives (or is promised) in return for something he does or gives or promises
